Making Your Mark with A Micro Memoir

Micro Memoir — short standalone pieces (200 words and under), often exploring a moment in time drawn from personal experience, is the hottest new category in publishing. In this session Estelle Erasmus will go over the significant differences between micro memoir and personal essay, and give actionable advice on how to start with a bang, what to write about (and what to avoid), the best way to "verb your work," and how to maximize your limited real estate to make an impact. The second part of the session, attendees will have an opportunity to craft their own micro memoir. Later, at a book signing, Estelle will review the first part of your micro memoir and offer on the spot feedback.
